Oppo N1 Launched with Swiveling Camera and on Board Cyanogenmod

Oppo Electronics Corporation, a major electronics company manufacturing TVs and DVD/ Blu Ray players has recently stunned the smartphone market with some amazing products. And here they are now with their latest device Oppo N1.

In a special event in Beijing China, Oppo unveiled their flagship with mesmerizing features and running latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

Speaking of features, Oppo N1 comes with 5.9”IPS LCD display of full HD resolution and pixel density of 377 ppi. And just like Xperia Z1 the display is super sensitive and allows you to use gloves stylus and even pens.

The Oppo N1 is available in two classic colors – white and black. Bottom part has conventional 3 capacitive Android keys back, home and menu. It comes in 16 GB and 32 GB variants but there is no provision of external SD card.

Oppo N1 is very sleek in dimensions measuring 170.7 x 82.6 x 9 mm and weighs just 213 grams. And the phone is packed with 1.7 GHz Quad core Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB RAM and a powerful Adreno 320 GPU which ensures lightning fast performance and top quality graphics experience.

Oppo N1 is a photography-centric phone with cutting edge optics. It has 13 Megapixel camera with CMOS sensor and f/2.0 aperture which enhances low light performance. N1 is first Android phone to use six physical lenses and specially designed IPS imaging chip in partnership with Fujitsu which is recognized as leading Optics Company. And you will be surprised to see that whole camera unit can rotate through 206 degrees so it can also be used as front camera.

And there should not be any doubt in your mind about this swivel mechanism of N1’s camera as it has passed a 100,000 time rotation test. Which means that it should work fine for 7 years even if you rotate it 40 times a day. It is quite reassuring, given that you can fire the camera and take a picture just within 0.6 seconds with a rotation of over 120 degrees. Oppo also boasted that its camera’s been tested in over 100 scenarios, which is apparently the highest in the industry.

Moreover N1 consists of a unique feature called O-Touch Panel. It is an entirely new way of using your smartphone. A 12cm2 area below the camera is touch sensitive which makes it easy to use this 5.9 inch device with one hand. With various gestures on this touch panel you can scroll, play next song, browse the web etc. Also when you long touch the back touch panel within camera app, it takes picture with front facing camera.

Oppo has presented a special Bluetooth accessory called as O-Click. It lets you operate the N1 camera even when you are away from the device. O-Click is just like a remote which stays connected to your Oppo N1 via Bluetooth and supports operating range of 50 meters.

There is a dual LED flash which sits there along with camera. And the flash works differently for front facing and back facing shots. And below the back cover a 3610 mAh battery powers the phone which is pretty good for a phone of this size. Oppo N1 also features dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC.

On the software side, Oppo N1 comes with Oppo’s new Color OS. It is the output of 10-month development involving 243 developers, 20000 testers. Color OS has got 410 improvements over stock Android and 37 unique patents. Some of the coolest features include weather themes interactive with icons, drop down board for drawing patterns to trigger apps etc.

Along with Color OS, Oppo is also bringing Cyanogenmod on board, making Oppo N1 first collaboration product with Cyanogenmod Inc. So users will have option to choose between Color OS and Cyanogenmod. This will be a first phone which will ship with Cyanogenmod on board.

And finally the cost of Oppo N1 is $571 (3498 CYN). China mobile customers can pre-order N1 now. And they can have them delivered in October. The phone will be launched all over the world in month of December.

With such amazing, new and innovative features and affordable price tag this phone is certainly gonna rock the android market. And our verdict is that this is a must have phone for tech geeks and photography lovers.
