How to Root Xperia Neo L MT25i
Xperia Neo L has a very small developer community so, unless you can build your own ROMs, there are very limited things you could do with your Xperia Neo L. But you can still gain root access on your device very easily. Don’t know what “root ” is? Read about it here.
Before proceeding, you must know that following this procedure may render your phone inoperable (bricked state). This happens in very rarely. The forum will not be responsible for any damage caused to your device.
- Make sure your device is at least 70% charged to avoid complications during the process.
- Backup all of your important stuff like contacts, messages etc. You will loose all of it during the process. For backing up the phone, refer to this post.
- MT11i_4.1.A.0.562_kernel.ftf (Xperia Neo V kernel)
- MT25i_4.1.B.0.631_KERNEL ONLY.ftf (Xperia Neo L kernel)
- Sony Xperia™ neo L Root.zip
- Flashtool
- Extract the Flashtool zip file and install Flashtool in your computer.
- Navigate to the Flashtool_ installation_folder/drivers.
- Run Flashtool-drivers.exe
- Check the last two options viz “Flashmode Drivers” and “Fastboot Drivers”.
- In your mobile, go to Settings > Developer Settings > Enable USB Debugging.
- Now go to Setting > Xperia Connectivity > USB Connection Mode > Select MSC mode.
- Check Unknown Sources in Settings > Security.
- Power of your device.
- Now put the device in Flashmode (while pressing the back button, connect the device to computer via USB cable. Green LED will glow. If not, try again).
- While flashing, DO NOT select any device from the device list of the Flashtool.
- Copy the two downloaded .ftf files (MT11i_4.1.A.0.562_kernel.ftf and MT25i_4.1.B.0.631_KERNEL ONLY.ftf) to Flashtool_installation_folder/firmwares.
- Start Flashtool (Flashtool-64.exe for 64 bit OS) and flash Xperia Neo V kernel i.e. MT11i_4.1.A.0.562_kernel.ftf
- When the process is complete remove the USB cable and power on device.
- The phone will vibrate and the screen will be black. DO NOT PANIC!
- Now extract the “DooMLoRD_v1_Xperia-2011-ICS-ROOT-emu-busybox-su” folder from Sony Xperia™ neo L Root.zip.
- Again connect the device to computer via USB cable.
- Double-Click on runme.bat in the above extracted folder.
- Power off the device by removing battery and put the device in flash mode.
- Now flash Xperia Neo L kernel i.e. MT25i_4.1.B.0.631_KERNEL ONLY.ftf
- Power off by removing the battery and then power on.
- Your device is now rooted.
- You might want to update your Superuser app as well your SU binary.

Please help,
dear friend,
i completed the whole process, my sony xperia neo l was flashed. but at last when i checked with root checker it showed my device doesn’t have root access. so i tried to download another app. but to my disappointment internet symbol near sim signal strength is permanently gone even though data traffic is enabled and on.
So now I am unable to access internet also. 🙁 . So for the time being what I did was factory reset.. and I am back to square one with all my apps and data gone.
I really hoped this post was true.
BUT please if there is any way to root my device please let me know.
and YES one thing I noticed during running runme.bat every alternate line showed path not found..also I tried another time(second run) with run as administrator but in vain…tell me if I was wrong somewhere. PLEASE
