How To Root & Install Clockworkmod Recovery on HTC One S
As you might have heard about rooting Android smartphone, Rooting is the only way to gain full control over the system. There are many amazing apps are available over Internet which requires root access to make them work. Therefore We have come up with a tutorial on rooting & installing Clockworkmod Recovery for HTC One S. Now you might be thinking that why should I install custom recovery on my phone. Well I think, you’ve also heard about custom ROMs like Cyanogenmod & MIUI ROM which are very famous. CWM recovery is needed to flash these custom ROMs. So you want to flash custom ROMs on your device ? If the answer is yes, then you can move to the further part..

Essential Precautions to be Taken before rooting & installing CWM Recovery :
- Your device must be charged upto 70 % Battery level (Recommended).
- Your device must have unlocked bootloader in order to root & install CWM. If you’ve not unlocked it yet, follow the procedure to unlock bootloader.
By assuming that youve followed all the steps mentioned above, you are ready to proceed on further article.
Procedure To Install Custom Clockworkmod Recovery On HTC One S :
- Firstly you need to download Fastboot files & Touch Clockworkmod Recovery for HTC One S (Links are mentioned below).
- Fastboot Files | 404.5 KB
- Touch Clockworkmod Recovery For HTC One S. | 10.69 MB
- Now you need to enter into fastboot mode. Follow instructions mentioned below to enter in fastboot mode.
- Switch Off your Phone.
- Hold Volume Down + Power Button simultaneously until bootloader mode appears.
- Select Fastboot using Power Button. (Use Volume Up/Down to go up/down & Power Button to select highlighted option).
- After entering into the Fastboot mode, Connect your phone to the PC.
- Extract fastboot.zip file in your PC. You will find following 3 files in your extracted folder.
- adb.exe
- AdbWinApi.dll
- fastboot.exe
- Open the ‘fastboot‘ folder (Which you’ve just extracted) & Copy down “r2-modaco-recovery-clockwork-touch-ville.img” (second download) in that folder.
- Now Open command prompt & Point its directory to the fastboot folder (OR You can do the same as: open Fastboot folder, Press & hold shift key and then right click on the free space in the same folder.When right clicked (holding shift), you’ll see ‘Open Command window here‘ option.Click it & Command prompt will be open pointing to the Fastboot directory).
- Put this command in command prompt :
fastboot flash recovery r2-modaco-recovery-clockwork-touch-ville.img
- After putting above command in command prompt, flashing process of clockworkmod recovery will start. Wait for the process to finiish.
- As soon as it gets over, disconnect the phone from PC.
- Now Clockworkmod Recovery has been installed over stock recovery. If you want to verify just do the following steps :
- Switch Off your Phone Again.
- Hold Volume Down + Power Button simultaneously until bootloader mode appears.
- Highlight ‘recovery’ option & Select it by using Power Button. (Use Volume Up/Down to go up/down & Power Button to select highlighted option).
- You will notice that stock recovery has now changed/replaced to Custom clockworkmod recovery which can be used to flash custom ROMs.

Procedure to Root HTC One S Z520e :
- Rooting procedure is way simpler than installing Custom Recovery. Download below mentioned rooting package for your device.
- Do not extract the downloaded file (though it has .zip extension). You have to copy/transfer the file to your phone’s SD Card. (Make sure that you are not place the file in deep directory).
- Now you need to enter in recovery mode (To enter in recovery mode follow the last point of above procedure).
- In CWM Recovery, highlight & select “install zip from sdcard“->”choose zip from sdcard“. Navigate “CWM-SuperSU-v0.93.zip” file from the location where you have transferred it.
- Wait until flashing process to finish. As soon as it gets over, select “reboot system now” from the recovery mode itself.
- After device gets restarted, you will notice that app called SuperSu is installed. It means your device is rooted.

When I boot in recovery it won’t let me choose install zip option, it keeps resetting to the main recovery screen. Any thoughts?
Bro I rooted my htc one s wit. Then i copied the cynogen mode file to my Sd card.. But i m not able to open recovery mode. It takes a lot of time.. Is tht normal?

its more then one minute but the recovery page is not coming…help me out i need my htc one s rooted

Hi, I have done a mistake while following this procedure.
My phone is stucked in boot menu after fastbooting new boot.img file before rooting my device. Now it wont factory restore or anything and i can not acces internal SD to update anything. Please help
