Hey Viraj!
How to install a custom ROM now that my phone is rooted? Is there a cyanogen build for HTC One V?
Sorry, I a new bie, I followed all the steps for :
1. Unlock bootloader vie HTC dev. website.
2. Root following above steps.
But as soon as my htc one v restart after the last step- double click on install-superboot-windows.bat, I didn’t see “superuser” like you said above So I started to worried there is something wrong.
Then I download a app from google play, root checker, and the root checker said this device have been rooted and also root checker has granted permission from superuser. That I don’t understand.
Can you tell me that my device was rooted or not, or is there any other way to check root status ???:D
Thank you Mr Viraj SK

but i can’t backup my stock rom
help me what to do ???
Which method did you try to backup stock ROM?
Hey i did all steps but in last step when double clicked on that batch file but after that cmd opens and says downloading boot.img and cmd window closes. What 2 do plz help
After i double clicked the “install-superboot-windows.bat” the phone restarted with red text that says “This build is for development purposes only. Do not Distribute….. ”. it stayed so for a long time. What to do?
I had trouble, but it was because I couldnt get cwm recovery to work correctly for some reason. Once I installed twrp recovery, worked like a champ.
Thanks… That worked well …
Viraj I tried to update my Superuser. It does not seem to do so. It says that it could not gain root access. What’s the problem?
Are you using a Custom ROM or Stock one?
Just rooted my phone, worked perfectly !
Can we do the same with linux os instead of windows? Will that cause any issue?
You’ll not be able to run .bat file in Linux. You will have to perform all the commands manually (that are written in install-superboot-windows.bat)..
After i double clicked the “install-superboot-windows.bat” the phone restarted with red text that says “This build is for development purposes only. Do not Distribute….. ”. it stayed so for a long time. What to do?
how about responding to this? We are all having the red text problem and have yet to get a fix for this.

Hi Viraj,
I am new to rooting and planning to Install Jelly Bean on my HTC One V mobile.
So i have to follow the below process(COrrect me if i am wrong):
1. Unlock Bootloader
2. Root (superuser)
3. CWM recovery installing
4. Install Jelly Bean ROM using CWM
I am a bit confused with Root(superuser) and CWM recovery. Are both essential as mentioned in the above flow. Or any one of the installation will suffice.
Root is not necessary sometimes but CWM is must.
Is Root and Installing CWM recovery same?
Do we need to install CWM recovery after Rooting?
Please help me on this..
No root and CWM is different. You need to install CWM for flashing custom rom.
hey viraj in cmd its only saying “waiting for device”…what to do…???
Your phone isn’t detected by the PC. It may have happened because you don’t have drivers installed in your PC…
nice one, dude………..
You’re welcome salam..
This is the best step by step guide I found on the inernet!
Amazing job!

You’re welcome Darshan..
The device restarted, but it’s hanging on the splash screen. The HTC screen has the red text that says “This build is for development purposes only. Do not Distribute….. ” It’s been sitting for about 15 minutes. I can disconnect the device from my computer and restart the device, but I do not get SU. Please advise. Thank you.
It worked! Just follow the steps carefully! Very clear! Thanks!
You’re welcome John..
There is no ‘install-superboot-windows.bat’ file. Only ‘install-superboot-windows.msdos batch’. Device did not reboot
