can we remove micro sd card ( memory card) from the phone before attaching the phone to the computer for update ???

    • Viraj SK

      Yeah.

  • John Pip

Hi Viraj, you are an ace. This worked perfectly thanks to your excellent instructions. The trouble is, my Xperia arc s wifi tethering would no longer work, and as I use this all the time for my ipad it is a big problem for me. By the way, this had always previously worked perfectly.
I have searched everywhere on the internet for a solution, with no luck. I am therefore reluctantly downgrading again until Sony has resolved this issue, using the same instructions!

    Regards, JP

  • Paul

I was a little scepticle about the benefits of 4.0.4 over 4.0.3 so I did this on a friends handset first – and wow… he can now faceblog twice as fast as me. Think I’ll wait until Sony release a version for my LT18i before committing. (Although did I miss anything and 4.0.4 offers any other benefits I’ve not found?)

  • Mukesh jain

Sir in my sony xperia lt18i I have network prob. Can it b solved by updating? Now its running on 2.3.4 ver. Pls reply as soon as possible.

  • Alak

I am not able to do this. The link(download) file name is LT18i_4.1.B.0.587_Generic Global World.ftf. but the mentioned (in instruction) file name is LT18i_4.1.B.0.431_Generic.World.1254-2184.7z. both are not similar. maybe this makes problem. I got a link with same file name as instruction, but size is not same. Can I try with this one: http://server1.android-rom.ir/firmware/index.php?dir=sony/LT18/&file=LT18i_4.1.B.0.431_Generic.World.1254-2184.7z
