THAT SHOWS ALL APPS ARE IN SD CARD. BUT MY PHONE MEMORY IS ALMOST FULL. WHAT I DO?

  • VIvek

    I have a rooted S5830i.

I tried this tutorial. When I installed this zip from SD, it did install – but then when I boot in recovery, I am getting the regular recovery only. I read on XDA forums that you need another zip file to make this permanent.

    http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1841904

    Is this true?

What can be the problem that I am facing. Your help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    • Shreyas

      You can definitely trust XDA

      • VIvek

Thanks for the reply. I have a couple of questions as I am a relative newbie. I am only testing this out now because my s5830i is out of warranty now and if this works I would try rooting an S4 too.

        1) Yes I trust XDA. The only question that I have is that is CWM you install permanent or temp as mentioned here – http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1552792

Because in your guide it says that you would get CWM recovery every time you boot into recovery after following your procedure. After loading the CWM zip file that you suggested, I went to the CWM menu without booting as rebooting starts with stock recovery as mentioned. I chose back up and restore and took a backup. There is a backup file with today’s date in my SD Card folder after this. Is this good enough to save me if I mess up installing a new ROM?

        2) How stable is the Jelly Blast RoM that you had suggested? Are there any known problems that you faced installing it on s5830i?

If you wish, you can add me on gtalk, we can discuss further.

        Thanks again.

        • Shreyas

In this particular recovery you have that problem that you have to flash it every time. Your backup is sufficient enough. You can again flash the recovery and restore the backup through.
About Jelly Blast ROM, mainly other ROMs are based on mostly Cyanogenmod so you can expect similar bugs.

I seem to be having an issue unrooting. I tried your method but it didnt work. I ended up downloading the original fimware for the device. when I place the file into odin it begins to work and once it gets to the modem section and in the text prompt screen in the corner it ends up saying that its at recovery.img and then I get a fail…now when the device turns on all it gives me was a firmware upgrade encountered an issue. please select recovery mode in kies & try again. it still allows me into download mode but I dont know what to do next…

    • Viraj SK

This might be the issue with the firmware you are trying to flash. Try flashing a firmware with a different baseband…
